| Tips For Daily Water Saving |
| 1. |
Don’t rinse razor under a running tap. Fill sink/ basin with a little warm water for rinsing. This is just as effective as running water & far less wasteful |
| 2. |
Keep a container of water in the fridge so that you won't need to run the water down the sink until it's cool enough to drink. |
| 3. |
Washing fruit and vegies in a half-filled sink instead of under running water is a great way to cut back on water wastage. |
| 4. |
Use a sink strainer |
| 5. |
Remove weeds regularly from garden beds because weeds compete with other plants for water. |
| 6. |
An automatic sprinkler system operates as above uses around 50,000 litres of water a year. Hose-connected sprinklers operated for the same length of time use around half that. |
| 7. |
If you sweep your driveway or paths with a rake or broom, rather than using a running hose, it will save 200 litres of water. Use the sweepings on your compost heap. Remember to add your veggie peelings too!! |
| 8. |
Reduce time taken to shower. If you want a long soak, consider having a bath. You may be surprised to know a bath uses much less water than a long shower. |
| 9. |
Don't let cold water run down the drain while you're waiting for your shower to heat up. Instead, capture the water in a bucket and use it to water your plants. |
| 10. |
In the shower, turn water on to get wet; turn off to lather up; then turn back on to rinse off. Repeat when washing your hair. |
